Choosing the Right Season
Cox's Bazar is a year-round destination, but different seasons offer very different experiences. Here's everything you need to know.
October to February — Peak Season (Best Time)
This is the golden period for visiting Cox's Bazar. The weather is cool and dry, the sea is calm, and the beach is at its most beautiful.
- Temperature: 18°C – 28°C
- Sea condition: Calm and safe for swimming
- Crowds: High — book hotels early
- Best for: Families, couples, first-time visitors
Hotel Amin International tip: Book at least 2 weeks in advance during peak season, especially for weekends and public holidays.
March to May — Shoulder Season
Slightly warmer but still pleasant. Fewer crowds and better hotel rates.
- Temperature: 25°C – 35°C
- Sea condition: Moderate
- Crowds: Medium
- Best for: Budget travellers who want fewer crowds
June to September — Monsoon Season
The Bay of Bengal is rough during monsoon. Swimming is not recommended and some beach areas may be closed.
- Temperature: 27°C – 32°C
- Sea condition: Rough — not safe for swimming
- Crowds: Very low
- Best for: Off-season discounts, dramatic scenery, nature photography
Silver lining: Monsoon brings lush green hills and spectacular storms over the sea. For photographers and nature lovers, this can be a magical time.
National Holidays to Avoid (Unless You Like Crowds)
- Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha — Extremely crowded
- Pohela Boishakh (Bengali New Year) — Very busy
- December-January school holidays — Peak family travel
